The Review of ThinkPad Tablet 2

About two years ago, Lenovo unveiled ThinkPad Tablet. This tablet is focus on business. However, the Android OS running on it makes it is not a perfect idea for business. Sure, this is not the fault of Lenovo. Lenovo also noticed this shortage. They are trying to change this situation. So the ThinkPad Tablet 2 was developed.

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 is running Windows 8. How about the real performance of this new product? Could it meet customers expectation? Let us have a clear look at it.

In violation to rumors, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 didn’t brings all those features, such as fingerprint identification. However, when compared to Intel Atom talbets, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 is really a great product both on design or manufacture.

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 inherited the TrackPoint design from ThinkPad series. On the right top you will see this brand symbol. The ThinkPad Logo is placed on the left-top corner at backside. The matte black plastic case is similar to ThinkPad laptop. The dull polish makes it very soft for holding. Lenovo officially announced the ThinkPad Tablet 2 have a build in meta frame. This will enhance its strength while keep it light.

ThinkPad Tablet 2 is 262.6*164.6*9.8mm size. It only weight for 565g. A Intel Atom Z2760 dual core 1.8GHz CPU is used. It also comes with 2GB RAM, 64GB ROM.  These hardware specs is not so outstanding but can handle most daily works.

Regarding other accessaries, ThinkPad Tablet 2 uses a 10.1 inch 5 points touch screen at a resolution of 1366×768. Users will get a touch pen. It carries a 2.0 mega pixels from side camera. On the bottom of the screen, there is a Windows Logo button. Micro USB charge port and a full size USB port are placed on the legt side. There is a protection cap for the USB port. The Mini HDMI port is located at the bottom side. A 3.5mm handset port is located on the top side. There are also a Micro SD card slot and SIM card slot located on the top side. On the backside, you will see a 8.0 mega pixels camera and a LED flashlight.

The ThinkPad Tablet 2 sold in American can support  3G/LTE. It can use AT&T network.

Touch Pen

The tablet runs Windows 8. It has a Modern UI. This UI is very smooth and user friendly. But the zoom logic in the Windows makes some font styles looks very strange.

Regarding to the battery, the ThinkPad Tablet 2 got a excellent performance. It get a 10 hours 3 minutes record when playing videos at 50% power. This result is very close to Lenovo’s official announcement. This result is also good enough to beat many other tablets.
