A Review of the iPad Mini

ipad miniIf you have used an iPad, you know firsthand the pains of its size. I remember when I first held an iPad Mini. I put it right into my back pocket, and it fit perfectly. The reason this struck such a chord with me is that I felt that I could finally have the portability of an iPhone while still having a screen that could actually captivate my attention and provide a decent cinematic experience. In a way, the iPad Mini is actually the size that the original iPad should have been; it can accomplish all of the tasks an iPad can while still having the extreme portability that is nearly required in day-to-day life.

Personally, the iPad Mini’s interface, in comparison to that of its competition, has always been leagues ahead. The fluidity in the user interface is a prime component in my enjoyment. I have experienced zero hangups during browsing and feel that my fingers can always find themselves to their correct place with the letter and thumbnail size. Whenever I used one of my friend’s Android phones, I could never find what I was looking for, whereas with the Apple interface, it has always been a simple and speedy process for me to keep track and find the specific application or feature I’ve been looking for as they are all on the front page the entire time.

Surprisingly, the iPad Mini can also be used as a phone itself; this specific tidbit blew my mind. Not only can this not so mini iPad Mini fit into my pocket while possessing all of the potential of a normal iPad; I can also use the iPad Mini to call my mother! Now, someone might think that it is too big to use for a phone call, but in my opinion, it is just the right size and seems to lie snugly within my hand as I use it to talk. You also look pretty snazzy using one as a phone, considering everyone around you is collectively asking what phone you have because they want it. The only drawback would have to be that only Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon provide the cellular service for this device. For all those people with T-Mobile or any other service provider, the normal iPad Mini is still a prime buy, and you could always download a Voice over IP service such as Skype or Google Voice while using your home Wi-Fi.

There are other functions such as the two cameras on the front and back of the handheld. The camera on the back is designed to be used for general picture use. It is equipped with a 5 megapixel camera that can produce extremely high-quality pictures that are perfect for someone wanting to capture a moment with sheer perfection. The other camera is designed to utilize programs such as Skype and FaceTime with a 1.2 megapixel camera. The rear camera is able to record in an astounding 1080p high-definition quality while the front can still record in an impressive 720p.

All in all, the iPad Mini brings to the table all of the functions and innovations of previous Apple products. It possesses an optimal size that is perfect for watching videos and accessing applications while still fitting in your pocket. It embodies what Apple has became famous for and secures their position as the king of handhelds.
